Sunshade for Abrams Park Initiative

Initiative Description – By working with Okaloosa County Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Bluewater Bay, we propose to partner to with the County to put a Sunshade over the playground equipped in Abram’s Park.

Estimated Cost – $40,510 (View Cost Estimate)

Community Benefit – Providing a Sunshade makes the Park more useful in hot summer months and light inclement weather. Any extra funding beyond the Sunshade will be earmarked for other Playgroup and Park Equipment in BWB.

Project complete 3 July 2023

Project Update – 21 April 2023 – Okaloosa County is funding the project. It’s estimated the project will begin by the end of July 2023.

Note: Funds donated to this initiative will be reallocated to a similar initiative under Parks and Recreation in BWB.
