Graphical Information System (GIS) for Stormwater Data

BUF will support the MSBU “Exploratory Stormwater Committee” with volunteers to gather owner point of contact (POC) data for all BWB parcels that contain stormwater infrastructure and create a GIS database and mapping of BWB stormwater infrastructure. BUF will pursue the support of local high school and college computer science departments to support this community service.

Estimated Cost: $2,500 (administrative costs, meeting facility costs, and software/internet bandwidth for student volunteers)

Fund Raising Goal: $2,500 and volunteer support from community to include local high school/college students.

Community Benefit: This effort automates the storage of stormwater infrastructure data and supports future efforts to present the scope of BWBs stormwater infrastructure. An informed community can then make better decisions concerning stormwater management and the impact of future development on the current stormwater system.
